A very expressive Pinot Noir offering up beautiful aromatics and flavors of red fruit, and dark fruit with notes of baking spice and vanilla.
Quite structured on the palate with a lush mouth-feel that is balanced by food pairing acidity. Red and blue fruit flavors abound with a combination of the baking spice and vanilla notes, highlighted with hints of cinnamon. Truly a stand-out Pinot Noir.
The 20 acre El Coro Vineyard, in the Petaluma Gap sits high on the ridge-top where the vines are exposed to strong winds that bring the Pacific maritime air and fog through the Petaluma Gap. The vines are planted in thin loamy clay with volcanic subsoil. All three clones are co-fermented in an open top fermenter and then aged in French oak - 25% new
